1. Know the reason why you are taking the test

The TOEFL exam judges your writing, reading, listening, and speaking skills. The test is divided on that basis as well. If you are applying for a university, focus more on your writing and reading skills.

If you are applying for a job, focus more on your listening and speaking skills as you interact with co-employees and customers.

2. Set a minimum score in mind

If getting into university A requires you to have a score of 500, keep an ideal score of 600 in your mind. Don’t keep unrealistic scores like 650 or 750 because that will put immense pressure on you.

3. Converse in English

Every chance you get, converse in English. Learn five new words from the dictionary every day. When you make English a part of your daily life, you will find out your mistakes.

The words need not be anything big or scientific, but simple words that you didn’t know before.

4. Read for 30 minutes every day

Read loudly to know how you are pronouncing the words and maintain a good pace. You can pick up any random newspaper, novel, or magazine and set a timer for 30 minutes to read.

Make it a daily habit. Whenever you come across a new word, find the meaning. It will be fixated in your mind forever.

If you want to ace your TOEFL score, you need to follow these tips. Get started.
