The Highest Skyscrapers in the World

The world is full of architectural marvels. With cities boasting of structures that appear to pierce the skies, the legend of the sky-meets-earth might just come true someday.

But such heights require an engineer’s expertise and an architect’s aesthetics to be able to stand so tall and not collapse under the influence of weight or natural calamities while serving as sites of wonder and beauty.

Here are the 3 highest skyscrapers in the world that have fulfilled these conditions.

Constructed in honor of Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, this building is one of the tallest in the world and stands as tall as 2717 feet.

With its core material being concrete and a Y-shaped floor design, this structure aims to establish Dubai as a diverse travel, residential and commercial destination.

The Burj Khalifa was designed by Adrian Smith and Hyder Consulting, in conjunction with the NORR Group Consultancy International, which supervised the engineering and architecture of the project.

The building has been designed keeping Islamic architectural principles in mind. This building is located in Downtown Dubai.

Standing at the height of 2073 feet, this is the second-highest building globally and is located in Shanghai, China. There are corporate firms, gardens, and cafes, all located within this majestic structure which has a glass cascading and 127 floors.

The building has a double glass layer to facilitate heat dissipation, eliminating the need to opaque the existing glass surfaces. It was designed by Gensler, an American architecture giant in conjunction with the government of Shanghai.

After abolishing the Ajyad Fortress, it was formed that triggered outrage from Turkish and other governments. The building also has a pathway to the Mosque housing the Kaaba.

So, these 3 are the highest skyscrapers in the world that are worth every glimpse.
